The 100 Hz technology doubles the number of pictures per second from 50
to 100. With good reason: television stations only broadcast 50 pictures per
second. In the case of very fast movements (sport scenes, ticker text), the
pictures jump from one movement sequence to the next every 20 millisec-
onds, without transition. This jump is perceived as blurring. To prevent this,
the 100-hertz LCD TV calculates an additional picture and inserts it between
the two original pictures. This means that each picture is only shown for ten
milliseconds. The result is outstanding pictures without blurring and com-
pletely fluent movements at all times.
